Raising chicks is a rewarding experience, and at Sentinel Family Farm we make it easy to enjoy the process without the cost or long-term commitment of purchasing equipment you may only use once.

Our brooder rental provides the essential setup needed to safely and comfortably raise young chicks at home. Designed to be used with a large cardboard box or container, this rental is a simple and affordable option for first-time or occasional chick owners. Rentals are available in 4-week or 6-week terms.

Standard Brooder Rental Includes:

• Brinsea EcoGlow 600 Heat plate (Ideal for 6-8 chicks)
• Chick-sized feeder
• Chick-sized waterer
• Wood blocks to elevate feeder and waterer (helps keep them clean and free of bedding)
• Digital Thermometer & Humidity Sensor

What is not included: Brooder Box, Bedding Material, Chick Feed, Chicks

Brooder Box Options:

• Use your own large cardboard box or container at no additional cost
• Rent our sturdy wood brooder box for an additional fee

Full Chick Package (Optional Upgrade):

For a complete, ready-to-go setup, we also offer a Full Chick Package, which includes:

• Brooder box
• Brooder equipment (heat plate, feeder, waterer, wood blocks, and digital thermometer & humidity sensor)
• One bag of brooder bedding material (enough wood shavings for approximately 4 weeks)
• One 50 lb bag of high quality, locally milled chick starter feed

Want the Complete Hatching Experience?

For those who want the full start-to-finish experience, this brooder rental can be combined with our incubator rental. Hatch your chicks at home, then transition them seamlessly into the brooder — all without investing in equipment you may not use again.

This option is ideal for first-time chicken keepers, families, and anyone wanting a hands-on learning experience from egg to chick.

Deposit & Care Requirements:

• A $100 fully refundable deposit is required at the time of rental
• All equipment must be returned clean and in the same condition as when rented
• Deposit will be fully refunded upon inspection at return

How It Works

1. Choose Your Experience

• Select a brooder rental option on its own or bundle it with our incubator rental for the full hatching experience.

2. Pick Your Rental Term

• Choose a 4-week or 6-week brooder rental period.

3. Pick Up Your Equipment

• We strongly recommend picking up your brooder supplies the day before your chicks arrive so everything can be fully set up and warmed. Young chicks are very sensitive to temperature. We’ll provide your selected equipment along with basic setup guidance to help you start with confidence.

4. Hatch & Raise Your Chicks

• If using the incubator rental, hatch your chicks at home. Once hatched, move them directly into the brooder to keep them warm, safe, and comfortable.

5. Care for the Equipment

• Use all equipment as intended and keep it clean throughout your rental period.

6. Return & Refund

• Return all equipment clean and in the same condition it was rented. After inspection, your deposit will be refunded.
